課程大綱 Course syllabus

         這門課由兩位老師共同負責。
萬毓澤老師的部分,將從晚近興起的「全球歷史社會學」(global historical sociology)、「相互聯繫的社會學」(connected sociologies)、「美國新資本主義史」(new history of American capitalism)等學術視角出發,帶領同學精讀耶魯大學教授駱里山(Lisa Lowe)的近作The Intimacies of Four Continents(Duke University Press, 2015),以及哈佛歷史學者Walter Johnson於2017年刊登在Boston Review的長文及一部份回應討論。
蔡宏政老師的部分,則將精讀匈牙利出生的哲學家Michael Polanyi的Meaning(1977)、Personal Knowledge(1962)兩本與(社會)科學知識論有關的著作。

課程目標 Objectives

         培養同學精讀文本(close reading)、批判性閱讀文本的能力,並能從中開發問題意識、形成自己的知識地圖。
